HOME RENOVATION

interior design for

Woods Design House can provide a complete design plan for your home renovation. This begins with the Initial Design Consultation where we will combine the information from that meeting with your personal design style and our expertise, to curate a custom design and everything you need to begin your project. Then, we'll guide you through the entire design process to construction completion. Every design and construction project requires hundreds of details and selections. The following is included in your personalized design plan:

STEP 1: INITIAL DESIGN CONSULTATION

Our designer will walk through your home and hear from you on what's working and not working in your current space. We will assess your needs and wants, discuss budget and timeline, create the scope of work to be completed and ask many questions to gather your design style, color preferences and materials that will make your home better suited to the needs of everyone residing within. While we need to see the problem areas in your home so they can be addressed, we do need the home picked up and relatively clean for this visit so we can take photos and measure every corner where needed.

STEP 2: CAD (COMPUTER AIDED DRAFTING)

Our team of skilled CAD designers will create scaled floor plans and cabinet layouts, architectural millwork designs including feature walls and ceilings, electrical plans, 2D black and white construction renders plus 2D interior elevations, along with 3D elevations.

STEP 3: SPECIFICATION OF FINISHES

This is where we will specify the finishes, or the "pretties" as we like to call them. Specification of finishes includes selections like interior and exterior finishes, paints, stain colors, flooring, wall designs, countertops, tiles, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, accessories, cabinet hardware, and window treatments. We then take all of these selections and load them into the CAD files to create beautiful, top-quality visuals to help our clients see the design vision.

STEP 4: PRESENTATION

Once all of your designs are curated to our standard, we will schedule a meeting with you to formally present your cohesive design. At the presentation, you can expect to review your existing floor plan, your proposed floor plan, the electrical layout, 2D black and white elevations, 2D colorized elevations, and 3D colorized renders. Along with this, all of your finishes will be displayed on a perfectly organized + clean color board. We believe this service is truly essential before beginning any construction project and allows you to visualize the complete function and style of the space.

STEP 5: REVISIONS

After your design presentation, we collaborate with you to ensure you see yourself + your personal style in the designs. When necessary, revisions are made and design documents are finalized.

The Initial Design Consultation averages 1-3 hours, and ranges from $250-$650+ depending on the size and scale of the renovation.

Ongoing design fees & project accountability fees are estimated at time of contract after the Initial Design Consultation.

If you are interested in this service, but have special needs that may not be listed out here, please reach out to Emily to inquire.

To design is much more than simply to assemble, to order, or even to edit: it is to add value and meaning , to illuminate, to simplify, to clarify, to modify, to dignify, to dramatize, to persuade, and perhaps even to amuse. To design is to transform prose into poetry. - Paul Rand
